Christina Bolger Gallery

I am really enjoying a return to art. It has always been there for me, one way or another, but life has been so busy there was not much time to set aside for painting or drawing.
Now I am growing my creative self! I love that there are no rules and I can immerse myself in the process. I have taken to the outdoors - day trips and hikes. I am happy to be able to spend time in the landscape and capture the amazing colour and shapes.

About

Walking and painting combines two of my greatest loves!
Painting outdoors - often called en plein air - transforms a simple hike into a deeply rewarding experience. You stop being a passer-by and become more aware of your surroundings.
There are challenges but lots of fun with this type of painting. You must work quickly to capture the feeling of the place. The physical journey of the hike heightens the reward, making the final artwork feel like a hard-earned trophy of your adventure! Ultimately, it yields a more personal record that a photograph can never replicate...
